Georjean Cory

Forty years ago, she took her first art lesson when she was pregnant with her first daughter. Then, Georjean went back into teaching students with Special Needs. She taught Special Education, Physical Education, coached, and refereed many sports in her 28 years of teaching. She has been retired for 5 years from New Castle Schools, but in her last two years of teaching, she had the privilege of working with Pati Sparks. Pati encouraged her to explore painting and she took her up on it! She enjoys painting pictures of places that she and her husband have been to, and anything their two daughters request that she paints.  She enjoys continuously growing and learning about the oil medium and landscapes that she loves to paint.

This is her first year in the Muncie Art Guild and she has enjoyed the interesting and fun meetings that she has attended. This will be her first time entering a painting in the Muncie Art Guild Fall show and feels honored to enter three paintings.

Georjean lives in New Castle, Indiana with her husband Terry and their Jack Russell dog, Riley. She is so excited to learn about how to become a better painter and see what other mediums are out there and also get to know other artists.
