Diane Burrell

Diane is a 1988 graduate from Ball State University with a degree in Art Education.  Her specialty areas are painting and metal design with a focus on enameling. Her mentors are Patricia Nelson, the late Nina Marshall, and William Helwig.

 

Diane has taught at Daleville Community Schools and South Madison Community School Corporation. During her graduate work and tenure at Daleville, she implemented a curriculum for enameling and Multiple disciplinary art lessons.  She retired in 2011 from South Madison Community Schools

 

Currently, Diane teaches painting and enameling classes at Pendleton Artists Society, Gallery 119 in Pendleton.  She travels and teaches workshops throughout Indiana and Florida.

 

Diane has won numerous awards in both painting and enameling from the following: The Indiana State Fair, The Anderson Museum of Art, Henry County Artists Association, South Side Art League of Indianapolis, Madison County Artists Association, Pendleton Artists Association, and most recently Muncie Artists Guild, and has been accepted into the Hoosier Salon in enamel art.

 

Diane has had several one-woman art shows: the cloisters at Grace Episcopal Church in Muncie, The Artist Within in Muncie, Pendleton Artist Society, and the Southside Art League. Diane also wrote and received a grant from the National Enamellist’s Society for an enameling kiln and supplies for the Pendleton Artists Society Kids Camp 2018. Diane’s love for art as a lifetime learner continues as she attends regular workshops and conferences in enameling and painting throughout the country.
