Jerry McKean began his career as an artist at age 8, when he started copying Dick Sprang's artwork from Batman comics. Following many decades of doodling, he resumed his studies with classes at Cornerstone, especially those taught by fellow MAG member, Sarah Shaffer. With her encouragement, Jerry took his work to the next level, using mainly acrylics.
Jerry is also a Bob Ross fan and has attended several of Bob Ross workshops at Minnetrista and completed several oil paintings under Bob's television guidance.
Jerry continues his studies with workshops by nationally known artists. He focuses on landscapes. Lately, he had a few opportunities to do some plein air painting and has come to love it
